Based on laser scan data sets derived from terrestrial surveys a hydrodynamic two-dimensional model for the Mur was prepared for an 80 km stretch and the calculation of flood run-offs was conducted. Based on the calculation results, the flooded land, water depth and flow speed were recorded for the entire segment and a subsequent preventive measure concept for the protection of populated areas was developed. All of the results were summarized in a GIS project and can now be accessed on the state-server.
