On 04/28/2016 the öbv KOOP Award, which honors the most cooperative construction projects in Austria was awarded for the 1st time.
WERNER CONSULT is happy to have been honored with the KOOP Award for the Main Railway Station project in Vienna.
With this award, öbv would like to demonstrate how important a collaborative approach is for the future of the construction industry. The intent is to promote collaboration on construction sites and take into account the growing project complexity, the increasing conflict expenses and the greater mental stress imposed on all parties involved.
A multifunctional cargo center is under construction in Inzersdorf, at Vienna's city limits in the vicinity of express way 1 and the Pottendorfer Line. The cargo center (Terminal Inzersdorf) was planned for accommodating wagon load traffic, combined loading traffic and contractual logistics; it features the required high rises, as well as traffic and operational facilities. It will be ready for operation in 2016 and includes of 55 hectares of total space with a maximum handling capacity of 210.000 intermodal transport units annually.
Within the scope of this project, WERNER CONSULT is responsible for the entire project management and coordination for EIA planning, railroad and street planning, permit planning, drainage systems- and installation planning, general planning of signalling, telecommunication and electrical engineering, support structure planning and object planning for civil structures, work savety, failure investigation, tunnel safety S1, construction-phases planning, local site supervision, public services

Due to his retirement, the current department manager of the Construction Management Civil Engineering Department, DI Mr. Hans-Peter Haller surrenders department management to DDr. Mr. Nikolaus Thaller on January 1, 2016.
In his capacity as the department manager of the Construction Management Civil Engineering Department DI Mr. Hans-Peter Haller was responsible for implementing numerous prominent major projects in the construction management sector for the past 7 years, including on-site construction supervision for project S10, section Unterweitersdorf to Freistadt, for project A23, connection Landstraße, for project A2, “Packabschnitt“ and for project Terminal Inzersdorf.
DDr. Mr. Nikolaus Thaller , an “all-round talent" who is able to cover a broad-based task spectrum as a civil engineer for construction and judicial personality, is taking over the department. Following his graduate studies in civil engineering DDr. Mr. Nikolaus Thaller was actively employed at TU Graz and then worked for several major companies in the project management sector and project development, as well as project manager, department manager , managing director and expert assessor in the real estate sector.
TU Graz hosted the Career- and Information Day for the Construction Industry 2015 (BIT-BAU 2015) on November 5, 2015. This event offers students and graduates an opportunity to interact with the leading companies in the building and construction industry and apply for positions and internships, as well as gather information regarding degrees in civil engineering offered by TU Graz.
WERNER CONSULT participated again with a booth in which the staff of the branch in Graz provided information and answered questions for the interested visitors.
October 2 -3, 2015
119 WERNER CONSULT staff members participated in the 2015 company trip to Milan to attend the EXPO 2015.
On October 2, the program included a city tour with a stroll from Castello Sforzesco to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, to Piazza della Scala, the Dome Plaza, as well as a guided tour of the Dome. The remaining time was spent at the discretion of the staff, either visiting the roof top of the Dome, the shopping mile, a rehearsal at the Scala, visiting the new high-rises "Bosco verticale" or other attractions. The day concluded with a leisure get-together at a nice restaurant.
On October 3, we visited the EXPO with the topic "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life". The guided tours available included the Austrian Pavilion; WERNER CONSULT was responsible for project management in this segment, amongst other tasks. The other guided tours included the Pavilions of Great Britain, Monaco, Chile and the Chinese Real Estate Company Vanke, as well as visits to the other pavilions as desired.
